CONVERGENCE CENTER PROJECT
The Convergence Center will link pockets of academic excellence into a critical mass to promote competitiveness. Based on an innovative model that combines academic and research facilities with industry and commerce, the Center will offer funding and shared resources to universities and will broker their relationships with leading academic centers abroad.

Armenia has the potential to become a regional leader in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological and cardiovascular diseases.
NUCLEAR MEDICINE PROJECT
Armenia has the potential to become a regional leader in nuclear medicine and a center of excellence in oncology and cardiology. The $40 million Nuclear Medicine Project will lay the foundations for realizing this potential by acquiring the latest technology in the field and partnering with foreign investors for the transfer of technology and knowhow to Armenia.
Tourism
Armenia has a significant unrealized competitive advantage in tourism.
Our country is poised to enter its expansion phase in high-value leisure tourism with great opportunities for development.
TATEV REVIVAL PROJECT
A UNESCO World Heritage candidate, the Tatev monastic complex is located in a spectacular natural setting. The $25 million project consists of several components: conserving the complex, reviving its monastic and scholarly tradition, developing tourism products in the adjacent river gorge and villages, and building the world's longest reversible aerial tramway.

In addition to its sector-specific programs in education, healthcare and tourism, the Competitiveness Foundation develops programs aimed at promoting competitiveness through increased access to knowledge and knowhow.
BROADBAND ARMENIA
The Broadband Armenia Project will extend high-performance internet infrastructure throughout the country. It will strengthen Armenia's linkages with international telecommunications backbones, increase reliability, and lower the price of internet services. The resulting broadband infrastructure will create new opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation.
Armenia and Diaspora Join To Help Save Tatev

A Visitor Information Center to Operate in Garni This Year
New visitor information center will be launched in Garni by the end of this year. According to an agreement signed recently between the Competitiveness Foundation and the community of Garni, an office space at the local Cultural Center will be handed to the Foundation for a 25-year free operation.
An Old Mechanism of the 17th Century Oil Mill Discovered in Tatev
Recently, during refining works at the Tatev oil mill (Dzit-han), the medieval oil press mechanism was discovered in a well-preserved condition, including specially gouged stones and clay jugs for oil extraction and collection.
The Tourism Promotion Days to Start in Armenia
On May 13, 2010, the Tourism Promotion Days will kick off in Armenia aimed at the promotion of Armenia as a destination country, exploring of new opportunities for cooperation, discussion of issues on today's tourism development agenda and at the presentation of new tourism products.

MoU Signed between the Competitiveness Foundation and the Armenian Museum of History
On December 30, 2009 Pegor Papazian, CEO of CF and Anelka Grigoryan, Director of the Museum of History signed an agreement whereby the museum will provide assistance for the establishment of a Tourism Information Center.
Broadband Armenia Project Launched: Detecon Intl. Experts Met the Government and ICT Industry
On December 10 the Broadband Armenia project was officially kicked off at the meeting of the project partners in Yerevan. The meeting was headed by Nerses Yeritsyan, RA Minister of Economy.
The Perspectives of Armenia’s Pharmaceutical Competitiveness Discussed in Yerevan
On December 1, the 2nd Pharmaceutical Competitiveness Conference was held in Yerevan at the initiative of the USAID-funded CAPS Project. The event was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Health, SCDMTE, CF, ADA and the Union of Medicine Producers and Importers.
CF Took Part in the 3rd Annual Armenian IT Competitiveness Conference
On November 24 the Armenian IT Competitiveness Conference took place in Yerevan organized by the USAID-funded CAPS Project. The aim of the conference was to discuss the opportunities and challenges of the local IT industry in light of the latest socio-economic developments.
The 11th Board Meeting: Main Subsectors of the Foundation’s Activity Defined
On August 1-2, 2009 the 11th meeting of the Competitiveness Foundation Board of Trustees was held. The meeting was led by Tigran Sargsyan, RA Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board. The meeting agenda involved a number of issues related to the justification of the Foundation's activity.
