MoU Signed between the Competitiveness Foundation and the Armenian Museum of History

national gallery.jpgOn December 30, 2009 Pegor Papazian, CEO of the Competitiveness Foundation and Anelka Grigoryan, Director of the Armenian Museum of History signed a Memorandum of Understanding whereby the museum will provide technical assistance to the foundation for the establishment of a Tourism Information Center.

 

The agreement stipulates that within the next three months the Foundation will be provided with a space in front of the Museum of History, at the right and left parts of the open arch of the building.

 

The Competitiveness Foundation will work towards the development of the Tourism Information Center as well as will design related programs and implement fundraising activities. The provided space will be turned into an attractive tourist site with different facilities such as an information desk, souvenir shop, café and more. Favorable conditions will be created for attendees as to receiving comprehensive information, interactive communication and participation. Additionally, new income opportunities will be secured for the Museum and the Information Center.

 

This agreement is a part of the governmental decision No. 1297 taken on October 8, 2009. According to the decision, the Armenian Tourism Development Agency CJSC will resign its commission to the Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia.

A Visitor Information Center to Operate in Garni This Year

According to an agreement signed recently between the Competitiveness Foundation and the community of Garni, an office space at the local Cultural Center will be handed to the Foundation for a 25-year free operation.

An Old Mechanism of the 17th Century Oil Mill Discovered in Tatev
